17 ottobre 2012: lo Swap della Barcolana

Anche questa volta, le partecipanti dello S'nd S non si sono smentite, hanno portato un discreto bottino per lo Stitch'nd Spritz'nd Swap.

C'è chi ha ri - portato lana saccheggiata nei precedenti Swap, con la speranza di sostituirla e di dare l'impressione al severo marito di essere una brava ed oculata massaia...

C'è chi ha portato lane dimenticate nell'armadio da eoni, quando ancora si usava il fuso per filare...

C'è chi ha portato quella famosa lana bordeaux, che tutte, nelle passate edizioni, si sono portate a casa e che, puntualmente, ad ogni Swap è riapparsa come per magia...

This time too, the participants to the Stitch'nd Spritz didn't contraddict themselves: they brought a considerable booty to the Stitch'nd Spritz'nd Swap.

There has been somebody who brought back some wool already sacked in previous Swap, hoping to replace it and so giving the impression to the severe husband to be a good and wise housewife.

There has been somebody who brought some wools forgotten in the cupboard for ages (when the spindle was still in use...)

There has been somebody who brought that famous bordeux wool, that everybody had taken home during the past editions and that exactly showed up again by magic. 

Le lane che sono rimaste sul tavolo, dopo il primo selvaggio assalto delle fanati partecipanti, sono state poi sponsorizzate ed esaltate dalle padrone delle stesse, nella speranza che vengano accaparrate da qualcun'altra, in modo da non doversele portare a casa... (attimo che attendo ogni volta con ansia, mettendo alla prova le mie doti di imbonitrice da fiera).

The wools remained on the table after the first attack were then praised and exalted by the relevant owners in the hope that someone else might take them, so as not to be obliged to take them back home... (I always wait this moment anxiously, as I really test my showwoman qualities). 

Ah, lo Swap è appena passato e la mia irrefrenabile smania di filati non mi dà pace...

Si, sono AVIDA di fibre (sembra il titolo di un film di fantascienza...), non mi bastano mai.

Ma mi sa che dovrò aspettare ancora un paio di mesi prima di indirne un altro!

Ah, the Swap just passed and my unrestrainable desire for wools doesn't give me peace...
I am eager for fibres (it looks like a title of a fantasy movie); they are never enough...
However I feel that I should wait for some more months before fixing another Swap!

L'atmosfera, dopo lo Swap, era decisamente più tranquilla: sembravamo dei bambini dopo le festicciole dell'asilo... ci siamo rilassate e abbiamo sedato le emozioni con litri di guaranà e di Martini Rosè (si, è tornato, alè).
Hanno tardato a portarci le patatine, per cui a casa ho dovuto disfare 4 giri della mia sciarpa, ma vabbè.

After its end , the atmosphere became absolutely more quiet; we looked like children after the kindergarten parties... we relaxed and calmed our emotions with liters of guaranà and Martini Rosè (hurrah! it has come back!).
The bar owners brought the chips late, so at home I was obliged to undo 4 turns of my scarf. Never mind however! 

Come sempre c'è stato il momento del confronto dei capi in lavorazione "dici che mi va?" "Ma certo, guarda come ti sta bene" "ma è cotone, non stringe?" "Ma no, guarda che poi lo blocchi e con il tempo la fibra si smolliccia".

As usual we began to compare the various works: "do you think this is fitting to me? "Surely, look how it suits to you well" "but it's cotton, doesnt'it squeeze?" Absolutely not, you can block it and later on the fibre becomes flabby". 

E chiudiamo con Tiziana che, zitta zitta, in un batter d'occhio ha realizzato un coprispalle degno di una rivista!

And let's close with Tiziana who quietly quietly has realized a very smart shoulder cover in a twinkling of an eye. 

E con l'acconciatura di Ekeloa, vera anima dello Swap... ADORO come pettina i suoi capelli, si potrebbe dire che attendo i prossimi S'nd S solo per quello, ultimamente!
No scherzo ovviamente, in realtà lo Space Girl che aveva appena terminato le stava benissimo e credo che lo farò sicuramente. Almeno quando avrò terminato la mia personale lista dei lavori-da-fare-assolutamente che comprende, tra l'altro, un vestito per Natale... di cui non ho ancora comprato la lana... e non ho scelto nemmeno il modello... mmmmm... qualcosa mi dice che devo sbrigarmi...

... and with Ekeloa's hairstyling , real soul of the Swap... I ADORE the way she combs her hair: I would say that I recently wait for the next S'nd S only for that.
I'm joking : in fact the Space Girl she had just completed was suiting her very well and I think I shall knit it for sure. Only when I will be at the end of my personal list of the works that I must absolutely do: this includes, a Xmas suite... for that I didn's even bought the wool... and I even didn't choose the pattern... mmmmm... I think I have to hurry up!...
