31 maggio 2012: Riflessioni da Stitch'nd Spritz

Lo Stitch'nd Spritz segue le stagioni ed ha cambiato orario: non ci incontriamo più alla domenica bensì al sabato pomeriggio.
Questo cambiamento di orario e di stagione comporta, come ogni anno, un piccolo calo di presenze... è naturale, chi vuole trovarsi in un locale al chiuso quando fuori ci sono sole, mare e scogli che cantano come sirene tentatrici? Ma noi siamo sempre, come direbbe qualcuno "sul blocco"! Nel senso che, è vero, ci troviamo all'aperto e più spesso, approfittando di giardini e localini all'aperto per sferruzzare alacremente i filati di stagione, ma manteniamo anche fissa la postazione al Knulp, casomai ci fosse ancora qualcuno che non ci conosce.

The "Stitch and Spritz" follows the seasons and has changed time-table: we don't meet any more on Sundays but we meet on Saturdays afternoon.
This change of time-table is due to the season and involves every year, a slightly decreased attendance. It's normal! Who would prefer to stay inside a dark place whilst outside the sun is shining, sea and rocks are singing like tempting mermaids? But we remain always at our fixed point, in the sense that in fact we meet more often outdoor using small gardens and lovely outside spots to furiously knit the season yarns, but we also keep our firm post at Knulp, in case some "new entry" would like to join the group. 

In effetti il cambio di stagione comporta un cambio nei colori e nei materiali adoperati allo Stitch'nd Spritz, ma ci sono sempre mani operose che sfidano il sudore per creare meraviglie in cotone...

In fact season changes involve colour and material changes used at the "Stitch and Spritz": nevertheless there are always active hands defying perspiration to create wonderful cotton articles...

... o in seta...

... silk pieces...

... o in ciniglia. Ahimè, un po' fuori stagione, ma che ci potrà scaldare le spalle nelle serate estive in montagna!

... or chenille ones (a little bit out of season, but always fit for protecting and heating shoulders during the cold Summer evenings on the mountains!)

Certo, per godere appieno dell'atmosfera gioiosa dell'incontro, bisognerebbe evitare di portare lavori troppo complicati...

As a matter of fact, in oder to fully enjoy of the cheerful atmosphere of the meeting, we should not bring too complicate works!...

... o che richiedono conteggi complicati... ma il desiderio è grande e noi lo sappiamo bene: quando ci si innamora di uno schema speciale, come possiamo separarcene anche solo per un minuto prima di vederlo finito???

... or works requesting too complicate calculations... but the desire is great! We know very well that when we fall in love with a special scheme, we are unable to stop it just for a moment! We want to see it finished at any rate and as soon as possible!

Anche quando il lavoro si presenta particolarmente lungo e... beh, diciamolo pure, a volte un po' noioso, noi ci lavoriamo come se fosse l'ultimo. E difatti lo è, ma per fortuna, solo di una serie!

When the work is particularly long and (let's say it) quite boring, we knit it as if it was the last one. In fact this is the case..... but happily it's only the last one of a series!

E poi ci sono momenti tranquilli, dove si sente solo il rumore dei ferri e i sospiri soddisfatti all'arrivo dell'ennesimo guaranà.
Sono questi i momenti che amo.

And then there are quiet moments, when you only hear the noise of the stitches and the pleased sighs at the arrival of an additional "guarana".
These are the moments I love.
