As everybody knows, on last Saturday, we, the Stitch'nd Spritz members, have experienced a real adventure: to participate to the "Abilmente" Fair.

I don't want to mention the deep emotion we felt when entering a place where the majority of us had never been... but looking to the photo maybe you can just imagine it.

After a short walk among the stands full of colours and of various goods we approached the area reserved to us.

We had a small place dedicated to our group inside the Crowdknitting Atelier, a real magic place, full of of colours and cheerfulness, which was specially meant to welcome these foolish triestine ladies, ready to knit furiously during the whole day!

Here you can see us on the classic souvenir photo, ready to begin our job together with the "Giardino di Angiolina", the other triestine association present at the Fair.

On this occasion we, the Stich'nd Spritz participants, invented a badge which would be able to characterize us... what better than our logo on a badge with miniballs?! We must thank Tiziana for this performance; unfortunately just at the last moment she had to give up the pleasure of this excursion owing to family reasons... but, Tiziana, your pins have been very appreciated by many people.

In fact, after having settled down, we "started off" the works... first of all we distributed the pattern created by Valentina Cosciani and Luisa De Santi and then the participants chosed the cotton specially provided by the firm Coats Cucirini and at the end we began to knit our baby sleep sacs!

As already mentioned, these sacs are meant for the premature babies of the association "Cuore di Maglia"and must be realized with a small hole on the bottom to allow the small therapy tube to pass through.

During the whole knitting day the Stitch'nd Spritz participants didn't stop for a single moment! They threw themselves heart and soul to their task and they also managed to involve some ladies and girls who were wandering around the stands with much curiosity... these persons too often stopped and knitted with us initiating a new sleep sac or continuing an already started one.

Each row is a success for us, a step which leads us nearer to the achievement of our task!

There were those specially equipped for the two-coloured knitting... exciting much envy and admiration in all the other ones!

As in every Stitch'nd Spritz we had amusement, flashes of wit, laughters and souvenir shots.

And we also had some visits! Persons that we only know from far away who took this opportunity to come and chat , laying the foundations of new good friendships! Like Aogi, for example...

... or Wilma Strabello, pioneer of the Italian craft...

.... or Cristina Sperlotto, of Ork'idea Atelier, or Teresa Boroni and Michela Mazzucchelli, or the girls of Gorizia's Fil Rouge, or with the stitch'n bitch Bologna's organizers, with whom I had really TOO LITTLE time to chat!
And all of the sudden, towards the end of the day the first completed sleep sacs began to show up! People who did not finish the work during the fair will be able to take it home, to knit it quietly and give it back during our next meetings. In the same way the sleep sacs without "maternity", i.e. those which have passed through many hands during the day, will be also distributed among the "Spritzer" who stayed at home.

At the end of the day, very tired, but very happy, we returned home, enriched with that invisible and untouchable "something more" that each of us has felt deeply in our heart... Good bye to the next time Abilmente and Cuore di Maglia!
